First poem in a long time...

Underneath the sea
Lay the hollow bones I once knew
Flattened, and crushed by the wondering waves
I drop onto the floor.

The sun’s eyes peer into mine
As the clock ticked on
Her smell vanished from my senses
Farther and farther I fell.

I reached for a hand as it reached for mine
Sickly and alive, closer and closer
For a moment we united
Down I went.

Surrounded by swimming bubbles
Popping and tickling, pushing my body on
The eventual end, underneath the blue blankets
Ever so still, waiting to be awoken.
